Acting under the direction of the Adult Day Program Supervisor, the Adult Development Program (ADP) Instructor (Floater) is responsible for providing direct instructional services to individuals served who have significant behavioral barriers interfering with various aspects of social functioning. The ADP Behavioral Instructor ensures the safety, care and welfare and of individuals served, and promotes increased independence through the use of behavioral principles, techniques, and methods and Person-Centered Practices. The ADP Instructor (Floater) shall ensure activity schedules are created, activities are structured and based on client preference and need, materials are available for carrying out activities, and curriculums are utilized in conjunction with established goals and objectives outlined in Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs). The ADP Instructor (Floater) shall work closely with Lead Instructors (Registered Behavior Technician) and the Director of Day Services to carry out instruction and curriculums. The ADP Instructor (Floater) shall be the front-line person responsible for conducting classes and demonstrations to teach principles and techniques, or methods in a variety of subjects including, but not limited to activities of daily living, visual and performing arts, home economics, communication and social skills, physical exercise, vocational training, etc. Curriculums, methods, and techniques shall align with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Supports (PBS). Because this position will be working in various components of the Las Trampas – Adult Development Program including the traditional, medical, and behavioral components, there is a pay differential for time worked in the behavioral component. When working in the behavioral component of Las Trampas’ Adult Development Program, the higher hourly rate will apply.
