About The Position

This position leads the daily operations of our Admissions Department and plays a critical role in helping clients take their first step toward recovery. This position oversees admissions workflows, staff performance, and cross-department coordination to ensure every client experience is timely, accurate, compliant, and compassionate. You'll serve as a key liaison between Admissions, Intake, Clinical, Medical, Housing, Transportation, and Revenue Cycle teams-making sure clients move smoothly from inquiry to admission with dignity and care. Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health or addiction treatment admissions
  • Knowledge of substance use and mental health disorders
  • Experience with insurance verification, referral processes, and admissions criteria
  • Familiarity with 12-Step recovery principles
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to respond calmly to urgent or emergency situations
  • Compassionate, client-centered approach with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or related field preferred
  • CDCA, LCDC, LPC, or LSW

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all treatment inquiries (phone, email, online, referral, and social media) with professionalism and empathy.
  • Verify insurance benefits, assess financial responsibility, and determine eligibility.
  • Conduct follow-ups and pre-admission outreach to maintain engagement.
  • Coordinate admissions scheduling based on clinical fit, bed availability, and medical clearance.
  • Arrange transportation and ensure smooth day-of-admission logistics.
  • Connect individuals not appropriate for admission with alternative resources.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant admissions documentation and records.
  • Track inquiries, authorizations, admissions, denials, and referrals.
  • Monitor workflows to ensure efficiency and regulatory standards.
  • Review performance metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Supervise, train, and support Admissions and Transportation staff.
  • Foster accountability, teamwork, and strong communication.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments and external referral partners.
  • Build and maintain community relationships that support appropriate placement and access to care.
