About The Position

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting prospective graduate and international students to Lamar University. Recruiting entails promoting academic programs, admissions advisement, and steps towards matriculation to ensure enrollment goals are met. This position will be in the Southeast Texas area and will work on campus at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Admissions-Recruitment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Valid driver's license.

• University recruitment or admissions experience.
• Experience engaging with international students.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely admissions advisement to prospective domestic graduate and international students.
• Participate in online and in-person recruitment events, fairs, school visits, student appointments, and other related recruitment activities for lead generation and conversion.
• Develop and execute communication strategies, including automated and individual communication for graduate and international students.
• Coordinate contact between students and LU academic colleges for graduate departmental admissions requirements.
• Assisting in coverage of the Welcome Center for walk-in students.
