About The Position

The Undergraduate Admissions Office is seeking a customer focused, sales oriented, and driven Undergraduate Admissions Counselor to join our Admissions team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to greatly impact the admissions experience for Undergraduate prospective students, as well as further the mission of the university. You will promote the values and strengths of Evangel University to potential students. Strategic thinking and collaboration with the faculty, staff, alumni, and various other stakeholders will maximize the effectiveness of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team of admissions and higher ed. professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritizing the most urgent tasks when appropriate.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Motivation toward aggressive goals and a commitment to teamwork.
  • High ethical standards and professional behavior.
  • Able to work in an environment that demands meeting numeric and qualitative goals.
  • Must maintain and safeguard confidential information.
  • Ability to represent the college in a a professional manner in interacting with students, parents, alumni, school counselors, and much more.
  • Able to work weeknights and weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to travel on occasional or regular basis (minimum of 7-10 weeks), requires a valid driver's license.
  • Proficient with using computers and office-related software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An appreciation for Christian liberal arts education and a strong working knowledge about Evangel's programs and offerings.
  • Able to make a commitment to supporting and ensuring the mission of Evangel University.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree from Evangel University, Central Bible College or Assemblies of God Theological Seminary is preferred.
  • Experience in sales/marketing, customer service or higher education admissions is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CRM Solution(s) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist prospective students and parents with admission, financial aid and other appropriate student services including billing, registrar, and housing options.
  • Establish and maintain a dynamic, cooperative relationship with key stakeholders.
  • Application review and scholarship consideration
  • Ability to conduct oral presentations about Evangel to a variety of constituents, including prospective students and parents, school counselors, and college personnel.
  • Telemarketing and social media initiatives with prospective students.
  • Host guests on campus for weekday visits, EU College Days, Founders and other specialized campus visit events.
  • Represent the University as an exhibitor at career fairs, professional conferences, and trade shows.
  • Provide guidance, counseling, information, and support to prospective and new students and their families with financial aid, payment, and related processes.
  • Research new venues and assess effectiveness of attended conferences, shows, and fairs.
  • Extensive recruitment travel (minimum of 7-10 weeks) and management of geographic territory
  • Work weeknights and weekends as needed.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal advisory role.
  • Other duties as assigned by the director.
