The primary purpose of this job is to support facility operations by increasing the facility census. This role involves managing the admissions process efficiently to ensure a positive experience for residents, families, and supporting staff. Key responsibilities include planning, directing, and monitoring the daily operations of the Admissions Department to meet budgeted resident census goals and ensure professional and efficient admissions. The coordinator is responsible for admitting patients, screening them against admission criteria, and completing necessary admission and financial responsibility forms. The position requires the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Sales and Marketing department. It also involves working collaboratively with leaders of other facility departments, confirming insurance benefit coverage, coordinating support services, and obtaining applicant information. The Admissions Coordinator maintains a comprehensive understanding of facility services, oversees bed assignments, and completes preliminary paperwork. The role also includes initiating and maintaining contacts with physicians, social workers, and discharge planners to maximize referrals, attending daily stand-up meetings, and assisting in outreach events. Maintaining confidentiality of resident care information and fostering a warm, personal, and calm environment are also essential aspects of the job.
