About The Position

Provides strategic leadership and works cross-functionally in the development, implementation, integration, and maintenance of the District’s payroll and timekeeping operating systems. Troubleshoots and resolves system issues and concerns. Recommends related technology solutions to enhance processes across the District.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Three (3+) or more years of hands-on experience with ERP applications is required.
  • Two (2+) or more years of related experience with BIS system administration activities or HRIS, Payroll, or Timekeeping Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of workflow solutions and business process improvements with management by deploying new technologies, integrating system components and ensuring smooth and efficient system operations for our Payroll and Timekeeping operating systems (e.g., Workforce, BIS, Oracle).
  • Collaborates with internal teams to implement new processes, training materials and knowledge transfers, actively participates in system enhancement and upgrade efforts, and assists with user testing; acts as liaison to other departments concerning payroll systems.
  • Implements and facilitates highly independent project work in a specialized area of the department; provides subject matter expertise to related IT projects.
  • Supports the Payroll Department by collaborating and coordinating with appropriate departments regarding creating internal reports, data requests and identifying efficient and effective reporting methods.
  • Ensure a stable and responsive environment by monitoring and resolving technical issues across all Payroll and Timekeeping systems.
  • Designs or requests creation of queries used to systematically analyze data, identify errors and enhance data integrity; designs test scripts and performs extensive testing throughout the systems change request process.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems for production, test, and development environments. Develop and maintain hardware and software lifecycle roadmaps, support plans, system performance metrics and related documentation. Plan, recommend, and execute operating systems upgrades, modifications, and new releases.
  • Captures data for department metrics and publishes department metrics to leadership; assists with employee data entry and mass uploads, as requested.
  • Processes all payrolls for the District’s employees and processes all external Interfaces to payroll system; reviews, records, and reports production of payroll software malfunctions, while adhering to organizational methods and procedures.
  • At year-end, assure the system is rolled to the new year and all tax updates have been tested and installed prior to running the first payroll in the new year.
