About The Position

We are seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator with 10+ years of experience and exposure to gaming/interactive entertainment environments. This contract, a hybrid role in Carlsbad, CA, supports enterprise infrastructure across on-prem and cloud-integrated environments. You will own the stability, performance, and security of Windows and/or Linux server systems, virtualization platforms, identity services, and hybrid cloud integrations—partnering with DevOps, Engineering, and IT teams to keep systems reliable during milestone pushes and release cycles.

Requirements

Experience supporting infrastructure in performance-driven environments (development + live operations)
Strong Windows Server and/or Linux administration (provisioning, hardening, performance, troubleshooting)
Virtualization experience with VMware/Hyper-V (lifecycle management, optimization)
Identity management knowledge: AD, GPO, authN/authZ fundamentals
Strong troubleshooting across OS, virtualization, storage, and networking touchpoints
Hands-on hybrid/cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP)
Scripting/automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, or similar
10+ years of Systems Administration / Infrastructure Administration experience

Nice To Haves

Studio or live platform support experience (reliability, release readiness)
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD-aligned environments
Certifications (Microsoft/VMware/AWS or equivalent)
Experience in Agile-based, cross-functional delivery environments

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and/or Linux across dev/stage/prod environments
Administer virtualization (VMware and/or Hyper-V), including provisioning, capacity planning, and performance tuning
Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, identity/access controls, and authentication services
Support hybrid cloud integrations (AWS/Azure/GCP): connectivity, access policies, and resource governance
Monitor health and availability; respond to alerts and drive incident resolution to maintain uptime
Implement patching, backups, disaster recovery, and restoration testing for resilience and continuity
Troubleshoot OS/app/infrastructure issues; perform root cause analysis and implement preventative fixes
Maintain documentation: configurations, runbooks, operational procedures, and change management records
Align with security best practices: hardening, vulnerability remediation, access auditing, policy compliance
Partner cross-functionally to support studio workflows and ensure systems stay scalable and release-ready
