About The Position

The Administrator on Duty (AOD) is responsible for overseeing day program operations, including staff supervision, participant movement, and adherence to agency policies. Acting as the senior leader in the absence of site leadership, the AOD ensures proper staffing, monitors time and attendance, maintains census records, and coordinates transportation. They provide leadership during crises, respond to emergencies, support regulatory compliance, and communicate critical incidents to senior leadership. The AOD also serves as the primary point of contact for community concerns and emergency services, maintaining clear documentation and ongoing communication throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • One or more years of work experience in a residential program; or
  • Two or more years of experience in group work involved direct care and interaction with youth such as YMCA, schools, recreational facilities, or residential care programs.
  • Ability to transport youth and travel.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime; and the ability to respond to crises situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with staff, community groups, the courts, other agencies, and the public.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license and clean driving record
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week.
  • Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in a Human Services related field.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize scheduled appointments and immediate needs for transportation of youth.
  • Ensure that the vehicle policy is carried out consistently by reinforcing the proper vehicle logs and checklist use to provide oversight of vehicle use, safety, cleanliness, and damage.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure cleanliness and availability of the PPE box.
  • Conduct walk-throughs of program areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and order.
  • Review vehicle logs for accuracy and completion.
  • Check that all Car/booster seats are available.
  • Check that the 'Vehicle Checked for Sleeping Children' Sign Is displayed.
  • Collect vehicle keys to ensure that only authorized drivers are provided with the keys.
  • Check Samsara is connected.
  • Complete Daily Communication Reports regarding medical appointments.
  • Meet with nurse and minors for follow up appointments.
  • Maintain documentation of significant events, incidents, or interventions.
  • Report all damage and accidents immediately to appropriate parties.
