Job duties could include, but are not limited to: Process, approve, and deny ignition interlock permit applications and affordability funding applications. Work closely with courts and interlock companies while assisting applicants in navigating the interlock process. Responding to the public through multiple channels, including: o Live Chat from the DMV website o Phone inquiries o In-person customer service at the DMV office Reviewing and verifying records, including driving history, court documents, crash reports, and insurance information Collaborating with a 13-person team focused on identifying drivers with unsafe histories and taking appropriate action Maintaining accurate documentation of case actions, communications, and findings

Requirements

  • Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Must pass fingerprinting and a background check conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Patience and empathy when assisting frustrated customers
  • Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Efficient and accurate typing skills
  • Commitment to ethical use of state resources
