About The Position

Residence Life is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join the East Area office as an Administrative Support Assistant, serving as the first point of contact, in person and by phone. The Residence Life Office is committed to developing a safe and inclusive living-learning community that fosters academic, social, cultural, and personal growth. This job will report to an Office Manager and assist with providing administrative support to one Associate Director, three Assistant Directors, and eleven Coordinators. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Serve as the primary point of contact, in person and via phone, in the area office Answer telephones, greet visitors, and take messages Schedule appointments and make appropriate referrals to other offices Open, sort, and distribute mail and post notices Create an area on call schedule for professional and paraprofessional staff and distribute on a routine basis to various University offices Assist in maintaining staff calendars Post confidential information to the student conduct database and refer to the Office of Student Accountability Conflict and Response as appropriate, maintain Incident Report log, assist in maintaining student files and records, type related documents Process room reservation requests and forward for signatures Inventory and order office supplies, prepare paperwork for special purchases, and assist staff with budgetary needs Assist in special project work and run office errands. Demonstrate a commitment to the development of a community where diversity and sustainability are valued

Requirements

  • General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS)
  • No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.
