About The Position

This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance. Cherokee Insights is seeking an Administrative Specialist to perform a variety of recruitment support, employee relations support or personnel action processing functions to activity missions.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive administrative experience, with a working knowledge of military policies, operational processes and considerations; ability to implement HR related tasks, processes, and projects to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly
  • Experience in a human resources profession which demonstrates the capability to perform a variety of recruitment support, employee relations support or personnel action processing functions.
  • Experience in military correspondence, policies or procedures, providing technical guidance on style, composition, and correct formats, organizing workload and master suspense logs, providing customer service.
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Database entry abilities
  • Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situation with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Experience in the organization of office files and documentation.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
  • As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Process and document a wide variety of HR actions that involve different forms, different authorities, different action codes, and different regulatory authorities, or additional pay systems.
  • Manage the application process for candidates from initial application to final screening. Obtain missing data; advise and assist candidates in preparing paperwork related to application actions; review finished forms for completeness and adequacy; contact candidates to resolve questions before processing final actions; provide information on HR systems, processes and procedures; and/or provide brochures, applications and other HR documents to potential candidates.
  • Manage the application process for Screening and Selection Branch (SSB) candidates from initial application to final screening.
  • Track and communicate with prospective program members.
  • Reply to applicants’ inquiries, screen initial calls from applicants and provide basic program information and application procedures within one duty day.
  • Update applicant data and records in the activity accessions

  • Receive and process routine and complex personnel actions to assist activity accessions staff with processing required paperwork for candidates.
  • Perform all tasks necessary for applicants’ security clearance validation and processing.
  • Provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HR system entry.
  • Develop and deliver briefings, calendars, strategies, reports, plans, meeting notes, presentations, etc., to activity leadership, as required.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
