About The Position

This position is primarily an administrative position within the Division of Probation and Parole. This position requires excellent data entry skills. This position is responsible for entering and removing absconder warrants, escape warrants and inadvertent release warrants within E-warrants and NCIC/LINK. Employees in this position will also perform second party checks and validation for all warrants when required. This position communicates with staff and supervisors to coordinate completion of required work. All communications should be accurate and organized. This position will be trained to assist with providing information to KY Probation and Parole staff regarding apprehensions of fugitives. They will provide necessary information to agencies in other jurisdictions where fugitives have been apprehended and serve as the initial point of contact. They will also gather judgments on offenders who have been convicted. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to work in a close setting and within all State and Federally mandated deadlines. They should possess strong verbal and written communication skills and have displayed the ability to complete work related activities in a professional manner. The ideal candidate should also be able to multitask with a proven history of sound decision making in high stress situations. This candidate should display the ability to think critically and analyze data to forecast positive outcomes. This candidate should possess the ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the Department and Division.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continued compliance with accreditation standards and correctional policies
  • Disseminate fugitive information to local, State and Federal authorities
  • Acquire and maintain CJIS Full Access Certification
  • Acquire and maintain Security Awareness Training
  • Maintain Absconder and Escape warrant files within State and Federally mandated guidelines
  • Maintain all Policies and Procedure requirements for the KY Dept. of Corrections
  • Complete and maintain required training associated with job duties
