This Administrative Specialist Senior position is in our Office of State Veterinarian, Programs Branch. The position will have the following duties: Provides professional support to program coordinators for all animal health programs by developing and reviewing records and reports to ensure compliance with the Division of Animal Health's program reporting requirements and standards set by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Prepares and processes applications, renewals and inspections and is responsible for data entry of program records into database. Evaluates and develops procedural alternatives to increase efficiency and accuracy of records. Corresponds with field staff to resolve inconsistencies or inaccuracies on animal health documents. Drafts correspondence to veterinarians, producers, stockyards, and program participants. Drafts correspondence to veterinarians, producers, stockyards, and program participants. Answers questions pertaining to animal health programs and provides pertinent information to veterinarians, producers, program participants and the general public. Prepares for and attends meetings and trainings and develops materials for public outreach. Tracks division's needs for additional equipment, supplies, and materials and makes recommendations for requisition to supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
