About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is a premier service agency of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The department provides resources and guidance to Kentucky's public schools and districts as they implement the state's K-12 education requirements. The department also serves as the state liaison for federal education requirements and funding opportunities. (Franklin County) has an opening for an Administrative Specialist Senior position.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Under general direction provide professional support to the Division Director and Division of School and Program Improvement in developing, implementing and maintaining various complex programs, projects or activities.
  • Provide professional and administrative support for KDE’s administration of Title I Part A and Title V.
  • File monitoring reports and district documentation in SharePoint.
  • Maintain conference registration and attendance and track trainings regionally.
  • Complete annual division inventory.
  • Execute, write, proofread correspondence, reports, inter accounts, departmental purchase request, EMARS, travel vouchers, state car forms, hotel stays and other documents for division and district employees.
  • Maintain filing system for reports and correspondence for projects and conferences.
  • Send daily attendance update to the division.
  • Facilitate in preparations of materials for professional development and provide support for training activities.
  • Assist in organizing special projects/conferences related to complex programs.
  • Maintain project budget and contracts, process billings and balance.
  • Serve as Budget liaison for Title I A and Title V programs and keep updates for review of budgets and appropriations.
  • Resolve inquires by phone or email from schools, vendors districts, other agencies or organizations.
  • Manage email, calendar and messages.
  • Provide assistance to visitors and greet public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
