As part of the Maryland State Department of Education, the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides services to assist students with disabilities prepare for the work world, vocational rehabilitation services to assist adults with significant disabilities who are seeking to enter or reenter the workforce, and the adjudication of Social Security disability claims for the citizens of Maryland. The Administrative Specialist II will provide full performance-level administrative work in support of the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) – Eligibility Determination Unit. This position reviews and analyzes personal, medical, psychological, social, educational, and other information to prepare applications for eligibility determinations. It requires regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies. The position works with other professional staff engaged in the intake and eligibility processes for Vocational and Pre-Employment Transition Services cases.
