About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. The primary purpose of the Administrative Specialist position is to provide overall administrative support for approval and execution for approximately 120+ contractual financial assistance and purchasing agreements. The position facilitates purchase of services internal and external approval process. Manages purchasing process for service contracts in the E-Procurement system and monitors purchasing agreements to ensure deliverables are submitted and requisitions are closed in E-Procurement. Creates and maintains financial assistance data reports in the NC Enterprise Business Services system (EBSS). The Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) implements quality standards for child care and increases access to families and their children across North Carolina. NCGS 110-85 requires that the State protect children in child care facilities by ensuring that these facilities provide a physically safe and healthy environment where the developmental needs of the children are met and where these children are cared for by qualified persons of good moral character.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
