The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction, purchasing and contracting for goods and services, maintaining facilities, managing state vehicles, acquiring and disposing of real property, and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally, the department manages many of the state's advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the state's population that have been traditionally underserved. Key Responsibilities: •Ensure work is being performed correctly, timely, and is adhering to all applicable policies, procedures, and laws. •Coordinate administrative support for the surplus disposition program in conjunction with the Administrative Services Supervisor. •Interpret and implement established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws for the disposition of surplus property statewide. •Excellent customer service is a priority. This position has extensive public contact with program clientele, employees, other departments, and the citizens of NC. •Provide services at the front desk by receiving payments for auction awards and for our retail warehouse store, notarizing vehicle titles, ordering duplicate titles, processing default fees, and assisting customers. •Main presenter for online training for new users of the SSPA database- responsible for the roster, communication, and classroom set up. •Assist in format, content, and agenda of the SSP training program and assist in developing an in-person presentation. •Assist in the online auction system in the absence of the Administrative Services Supervisor. •Some overnight travel may occasionally be required. •Additional duties as assigned. The Department of Administration serves as the business manager for North Carolina state government and provides leadership to state government agencies for the effective, efficient, economical and equitable delivery of services to the public. The department also provides assistance and services to several advocacy programs that serve diverse segments of the state’s population that have traditionally been underserved. The agency’s mission directs departmental efforts to: acquire, develop and maintain properties and facilities; create and operate an efficient system to purchase and dispose of goods and services to meet the needs of government agencies; provide excellent operational services to state employees; achieve fair and equitable opportunities and representation for various segments of the population that have special needs; and to provide administrative support to independent state government agencies.
