About The Position

The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! Sampson Correctional Institution is located in Clinton, North Carolina and houses up to 462 male offenders in a medium and minimum custody facility. Reporting to the Nurse Supervisor I, this position will have daily contact with offenders and will work in the nursing department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performing typing, filing, appointment scheduling, telephone duties
  • Ensuring supplies are ordered and maintained on a timely basis
  • Auditing Outpatient Charts prior to transfer for completion
  • Preparing Statistical Reports and reviewing Medical Records for completeness
  • Reviewing and maintaining Medical Records on site in a confidential manner
  • Performing clerical functions in compliance with the requirements of the Health Care Procedures Manual.
  • Ensuring all Records are initiated, processed, and transferred in a correct and timely manner.
