This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position. By joining the Division of Oil and Gas as an Administrative Specialist in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to provide administrative support to the internal staff and management related to the Federal Plugging Program and the Methane Emission Reduction Program.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.
  • Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain real-time data on project progress, log communications, site visits and contractor assignments.
  • Ensure data accuracy for reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Perform in-depth research to determine orphan well operator status, document findings and update records.
  • Maintain records and photographs to assist with RFP assembly.
  • Draft and track formal letters to well operators and landowners.
  • Assist with preparation of presentations and assist with federal grant reporting.
