The Division of Real Estate & Professional Licensing helps ensure Ohioans’ investment in their largest asset – their homes – is a sound one. This includes licensing, educating, and enforcing Ohio laws for real estate brokers, salespersons, real estate appraisers, home inspectors and foreign real estate dealers and salespersons. The division also registers cemeteries and real estate developments located in other states that are marketed in Ohio. REPL also has responsibilities under the Manufactured Homes Program and is responsible for licensing and inspecting brokers/dealers and salespersons. The Video Service Authorization Section provides complaint services, education and outreach to cable consumers, local governments, and cable providers. The division is seeking candidates to fill an Administrative Professional 3 (AP 3) role on the Licensing team. Requirements

  • 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
  • Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2, 16872.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and processes applications to verify applicants have met standards and provide recommendations
  • Independently ensures applicant’s experience meets criteria for the appropriate level of license or certification for appraisers, brokers, salespersons, or company licenses as they pertain applicable to state and federal laws, rules, policies, and procedures
  • Processes necessary paperwork and makes recommendations to resolve deficiencies
  • Responds to difficult inquiries and/or escalated communications by phone, email, or in-person\: or those referred by office staff and customers requesting information regarding status of licenses or applications
  • Leads team on routine training and new hire training
  • Researches and analyzes materials; provides technical information and advice to superiors to aid in decision making
  • Assists in developing new procedures related to established licensing section program policy
  • Serves as liaison between division and testing vendor
