About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to managerial, supervisory, professional, and para-professional staff located with the district office. The essential duties include providing direct support for the Area/District Manager; training, assigning work tasks, leading, and providing technical assistance for clerical staff in the district office. Other duties include but are not limited to: -Maintaining and processing personnel records for all staff. -Assisting in obtaining HR references. -Managing fixed assets/inventory and state vehicles assigned to the office. -Compiling and processing monthly reports. -General training for new staff. -Managing the maintenance and supplies for all office equipment and general work supplies, and mail distribution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience.
  • OR Equivalent combination of education and experience.
