About The Position

This position is responsible for conducting administrative hearings and issuing legally sound decisions. The Administrative Law Judge ensures due process by managing hearings, ruling on evidence, providing guidance to parties, and ensuring that final decisions are properly implemented.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Knowledge of administrative law, rules of evidence, and hearing procedures.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and case management abilities.
• Submission of a professional legal writing sample as part of the application process.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hearings in person or by telephone, question parties and witnesses, make evidentiary rulings, control the course of proceedings, and create a complete and accurate record.
• Perform legal research and issue clear, timely, and legally correct written decisions.
• Provide information to parties regarding the hearing process and assist them in effectively navigating procedures.
• Investigate and respond to customer complaints related to hearings and decisions.
• Follow up to ensure that decisions are implemented and carried out appropriately.
