About The Position

The administrative fellowship at Marshall Health is designed to cultivate the next generation of health care leaders, equipping participants with a comprehensive skill set and a deep understanding of the complexities within the health care industry. The 12-month multidisciplinary program, based in Huntington, West Virginia, is designed to provide fellows with a range of experiences in strategic planning, clinical operations, ambulatory care, digital solutions, network development, facilities planning, performance improvement and patient experience. Fellows assume a contributing role on the health care management team, providing a tailored fellowship experience based on your interests and strengths.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and must be actively pursuing a master's degree from an accredited college or university in one or more of the following fields of study or related degree programs: Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, or Business Administration.
  • Current resume or Curriculum Vitae
  • Three letters of recommendation - one academic, one professional, and one other (academic, professional, or a letter from your program director)
  • Graduate school transcript(s)
  • Personal statement (500 words or less) that includes: How your interest in health care management developed, Goals you would like to accomplish during the administrative fellowship, Your long-term career objectives

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to Marshall University graduates or current graduate students.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in data-driven analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Projects may include benchmarking against national standards, evaluating service line performance, assessing growth opportunities, and conducting targeted policy or regulatory review.
  • These efforts directly inform strategic and operational decision-making across service lines.
