About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an Administrative Director of Emergency Services (RN) for a permanent executive leadership opportunity in Austin, Texas. The Administrative Director of Emergency Services provides strategic and operational leadership for a high-volume Emergency Services division, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality patient care across the Emergency Department, Free Standing Emergency Departments, Emergency Management, and assigned inpatient units. This role is responsible for service growth, personnel management, operational oversight, and resource allocation while advancing patient experience initiatives, enforcing clinical standards, and supporting hospital-wide goals. The Director leads large interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and partners closely with executive leadership to drive performance, compliance, and staff engagement.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the position you are applying for.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing REQUIRED.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration REQUIRED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Services experience REQUIRED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience REQUIRED.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) REQUIRED.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve operational and clinical issues affecting Emergency Services with clear follow-through and communication.
  • Participate in hospital-wide and departmental committees, serving as a representative and communicator for Emergency Services.
  • Advance patient experience initiatives within the Emergency Department.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop leadership staff, including performance documentation and individualized development planning.
  • Enforce Human Resources policies and evidence-based employee engagement practices.
  • Communicate departmental, organizational, and industry updates effectively to staff.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Conduct employee and patient rounding and mentor emerging leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with emergency care standards and develop metrics to monitor performance.
