About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and clinical leader to serve as the Director of Emergency Services. This role oversees a 12 -bed Emergency Department dedicated to providing high -acuity care to critically ill adult patients. The Director is responsible for the overall operational excellence, clinical direction, and strategic growth of the department, ensuring all care aligns with the highest standards of nursing practice and organizational values.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of direct leadership experience specifically within Emergency Services.
• Proven experience in Departmental Operations, including budget formulation and fiscal management.
• Demonstrated experience in staff development and leading continuing education initiatives.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to work in the state of Kentucky
• BLS: Required within one month of hire.
• ACLS: Required within six months of hire.
• PALS: Required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred; applicable work experience may be used in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Direct and evaluate daily operations, including patient care delivery, IT integration, and service level optimization.
• Formulate, monitor, and evaluate the departmental budget; ensure efficient operations within allocated funding and resource optimization.
• Lead performance improvement activities and coordinate internal/external audits to ensure rigorous quality control.
• Partner with the CNO, COO, and medical staff to interpret hospital policies and solve complex clinical or operational challenges.
• Manage all staffing activities, including recruitment, hiring, orientation, and performance evaluations.
• Create an environment that fosters professional growth and integrates evidence -based practices into clinical protocols.
• Lead staff development and continuing education initiatives to ensure the team remains at the forefront of emergency nursing standards.
