About The Position

The Administrative Coordinator at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) at Georgetown University reports to LCCC’s Associate Director Administration and Planning and provides administrative support for the cancer center support grant (CCSG) and required components. The individual will support LCCC’s research mission by providing administrative support for the Associate Director for Translational Research, one or more of the Research Programs as well as assisting with the CCSG progress reports and grant submission and required leadership and planning activities such as LCCC’s executive committee, the yearly external advisory committee meeting and strategic planning activities. This position assists with the day-to-day activities of managing LCCC’s Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG), which gives the institution its designation as a National Cancer Institute- designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. This includes supporting LCCC’s membership process, center data, developmental funding for pilot projects, and non-competing and competing renewal process for assigned areas. These functions are performed in accordance with Georgetown University Medical Center's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of work experience in research administration and/or cancer research.
  • Familiarity with NIH and NCI and other peer-review funding agencies
  • Knowledge of database development and management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to synthesize information and communicate clearly.
  • Experience drafting executive-level materials and preparing and delivering information rapidly and effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively work with cross-functional team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Adobe Pro, Google Applications, Workday

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s in a field related to cancer research
  • Experience and knowledge of pre- and post-award grant administration processes.
  • NCI CCSG P30 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and managing monthly Program meetings, inter-programmatic meetings, research seminars, and scientific retreats.
  • Providing support to program members in developing successful pilot and developmental funding applications in response to LCCC RFPs and assisting with tracking progress and return-on-investment of pilot and developmental funding awarded to program members.
  • Supporting recruitment efforts and organizing speaker engagements for potential recruits, etc.
  • Developing program-specific presentations, documents, and reports as requested by the AD for Translational Research and/or assigned program leaders.
  • Assisting with preparation of program-specific materials required for the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG P30), including the annual non-competitive renewal and competitive renewal documents, required tables shared resource utilization, publications, intra-institutional and inter-institutional collaborations and impact, NCI supplement applications, External and Internal Advisory Committee meetings, and other materials as requested by the program leaders and/or Associate Director of for Translational Research or Administration and Planning (ADAP).
