About The Position

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS Collaborates with Pastor, staff and consultative bodies in implementing the mission of the parish. Provides logistical support and supervision for events at the Bichsel Hall at St. Leo Parish. Provides support to pastor and pastoral staff at Mass celebrations and parish events so the pastor and pastoral staff can focus upon what they need to do at those celebrations/events. In this, anticipates the logistical needs and addresses those needs including opening rooms, AV support, room setup, supporting volunteers, etc. Greets, welcomes and orients parishioners and others participating in liturgical celebrations and events. Helps parishioners to register and engage in parish life. In this, maintains knowledge about the operation and life of the parish community. Follows up at the parish office to ensure needs are addressed. Provides support to faith formation programming. Coordinates and completes special projects such as managing the process of moving into the new parish office building. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
  • Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboration between lay and ordained Ministers.
  • Active member of a parishin good standing with the Church.
  • Strong familiarity with and affinity for the traditions, liturgical practices and norms of the Catholic Church so as to be able to understand and anticipate the preferences of the community we serve.
  • Strong customer service and communications skills.
  • High School graduate required.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in customer service.
  • Sufficient familiarity with Catholic liturgical practices to set up for liturgies.
  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision and exercise excellent professional judgment for all decision and especially those of importance.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment regarding maters of significance for example: guest safety, comfort and overall experience; plant management and operations; emergency issues and disaster coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills including ability to speak to groups and respond to challenging situations while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to write detailed reports describing events.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity and preparedness to publicly hold teachings of the Catholic Church in Western Washington.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings. Schedule will vary week to week.
