About The Position

The administrative assistant, student employee is responsible for providing routine customer service and performing clerical/administrative duties according to established procedures. The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Employees may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at Lindenwood University
  • Good academic and financial standing with the University
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask
  • Strong professional integrity
  • Ability to use good judgement and think critically
  • Basic research skills
  • Ability to learn and apply institutional policies and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively at a computer for up to eight hours daily
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift/carry items commonly found in an office setting including, but not limited to, documents, laptops, keyboards, etc.
  • Regular in-person attendance is a necessary and essential function

Responsibilities

  • Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
  • Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values
  • Writes, edits, formats, and proofreads documents
  • Performs data aggregation
  • Responds to the needs of students, colleagues, and community members in a timely and courteous manner
  • Answers phone, responds to email, forwards messages, and confirms appointments
  • Maintains appropriate office supply inventory
  • Compiles and organizes information into relevant reports
  • Maintains filing systems and utilizes basic word processing, database, and spreadsheet skills daily
  • Collects, organizes, and composes correspondence for department staff
  • Job may require other duties as assigned.
