About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Circuit 13-0 Tampa. The mission of the Administrative Assistant I is to ensure accurate and timely management of offender information, support community service and job assignments, maintain high standards of data quality, assist in administrative tasks with professionalism, and efficiently manage budget and resources to support the operations of the Florida Department of Corrections. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or its equivalency.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and update offender sentencing and financial information into the database. Request and interpret criminal records for new intakes.
  • Develop and monitor community service activities for offenders. Help with job and program assignments.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure data is entered correctly and on time. Create reports for management.
  • Assist the Circuit Administrator by researching data, preparing reports, and providing guidance to staff and the public.
  • Manage budget information and monitor expenses for field offices. Order office supplies for the Circuit Office.
