About The Position

The employee serves as an administrative support person for the Florida Department of Education. The critical function of this position is to maintain and administer the badging process for the Turlington Building, serve as the department’s parking administrator and assist with the handling of incoming phone calls for the Florida Department of Education. This position reports to the Bureau Chief of General Services and provides service to agency employees and customers.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of administrative and office principals and practices.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to use personal computer.
  • Working knowledge of Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2013.
  • Ability to Communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • The employee is expected to demonstrate, model, and reinforce the agency’s fundamental values of quality, fairness, cooperation, respect, commitment, excellence, honesty and teamwork.
  • The employee will maintain, conduct audits and provide administrative support for General Services as directed.
  • The employee will serve as one of the Bureau of General Services main line operators with handling the Florida Department of Education's incoming phone calls.
  • The employee serves in a support role to the department: providing assistance during emergency activations and with the departments Continuity of Operations Plan.
  • The employee will be the backup in providing assistance to DOE Security, as needed, to greet visitors and to help ensure that the appropriate offices are contacted for all visitors seeking assistance.
  • The employee will be responsible for maintaining and administering the badging process for the Turlington Building, and to work with DOE Security to ensure that all visitor temporary badges are returned and/or accounted for.
  • The employee will serves as the departments Parking Administrator. Related duties will include, but are not limited to, the maintenance of records, issuance of placards, and conducting annual audits.
  • The employee will maintain, track and provide reports functions as directed. Duties will include, but are not limited to; Daily Turlington Building head counts, providing a daily and monthly report. Spreadsheets containing information related to Floor Wardens as well as self-reported employees who indicate a need for assistance during evacuations.
  • The employee will research and respond within specific time lines to special operational projects assigned. Projects must be completed within established time frames and accurately address the issue or concern of the requests.
  • Performs related work and special projects as required.
