Perform a variety of high volume administrative support duties for the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Counseling Center to ensure office operations run smoothly and efficiently. Position details include but are not limited to: Provide support for multiple departments, including counselors, access services, visiting advisors, success coaches and external support clinicians. Act as the central point of contact for students who visit the Counseling Center and utilize appointment software systems to track scheduled and walk-in visits with counselors, advisors and success coaches this can include in-person, via the phone and virtually. Provide frequent communication updates to students regarding potential wait times, appointment changes or cancellations and relevant information based on the student’s needs. Coordinate with counselors and success coaches to maintain and update their schedule and notify them of the arrival of appointments. Compassionately engage with students in crisis and assist them with referrals to counselors and staff and provide support resources as needed. Handle all student information with the utmost confidentiality and privacy. Familiarity with all aspects of the counseling center including daily and weekly reports, walk-in services, phones, scheduling, and other areas of the center as needed. Assist supervisor, assistant dean and counselors with projects as requested.
