About The Position

The Administrative Assistant/Accounting Clerk is part of a two-person, customer-facing, front office team that performs routine office and accounting support activities. This position's main responsibility is providing routine office support activities such as taking water payments, processing segregations, water transfers and name changes, processing accounts payable and receivable, and processing payroll.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and three years of general office or accounting support or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. (Note: Applicants with equivalent education and/or experience must provide a detailed explanation.)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Nice To Haves

  • Notary Public – District will assist with obtaining license
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Laws and regulations governing irrigation districts helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phones
  • Processing water payments, including all changes to the assessment roll and water management CIS software (STORM)
  • Compiling turnout books and water orders
  • Updating the District website
  • Processing temporary transfers, extra water, segregations, and processing the District mail.
  • Acts as the Board of Director’s clerk by attending all Board meetings, recording/reporting minutes, and all resolutions.
  • Recording customer payments into accounting system
  • Prepare vouchers
  • Processing accounts payable
  • Assisting with semi-monthly payroll processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
