CentraState Medical Center has an employment opportunity available for an Access Services Associate supporting the Patient Access Services department. This role is responsible for scheduling and registering patients in assigned areas such as Admitting, Outpatient, Emergency Department, and Central Access OR, following established procedures. When serving as the Access Services Cashier, the associate confirms and processes interdepartmental payments—including cash, checks, and credit card transactions—ensuring all funds are securely maintained in accordance with organizational protocols. The Administrative Assistant supports the leadership team of Patient Access Services department by performing a variety of clerical, administrative, and operational duties. This role ensures efficient day-to-day functioning of the department, assists with scheduling, communications, documentation, and provides support to leadership to enhance patient access processes and workflows.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting and supporting leadership staff.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • associate’s degree in business or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct administrative support to the Patient Access Services Director, Manager, and Supervisors, including calendar management, meeting coordination, task tracking.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date department records, including meeting minutes, reports, and correspondence.
  • Manage departmental communications, including emails, phone calls, faxes, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, trainings, and special projects, including logistics, materials, and follow-up.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and materials for leadership and departmental use.
  • Maintain organized files and records for the department, both electronic and physical.
  • Monitor office supplies and place orders as needed to ensure department functionality.
  • Support data entry, record keeping, and audits as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Functions as an Access Associate as needed to assist patients
  • Works assigned workqueues in Epic
  • Perform other administrative duties and project support as assigned.
