About The Position

Seattle Central College is looking to hire a temporary Administrative Assistant 2, working with the District Nursing Program. As an administrative assistant, you will be responsible for being a key member of the team that works to support the dean/associate dean of nursing across the district. In this role, you will support the deans, arrange for meetings, take notes, work with student referrals to the appropriate support person, attend info sessions, technical advisory meetings, and campus meetings across all three campuses and other duties as assigned. This position is a Temporary Full -time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00AM-4:00PM with occasional evening coverage needed. This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE. We are a district of three distinct colleges¿North Seattle College, Seattle Central College, and South Seattle College¿and five specialty training centers. Requirements

  • You have a high school diploma and one year of clerical, office, or administrative experience or equivalent education/ experience.
  • You have experience applying a growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement to solve business challenges
  • You have strong communication and presentation skills, particularly related to distilling complex concepts for a variety of audiences
  • You have a self-possessed demeanor and ability to work well under time pressure and on high-stakes projects
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
  • You are detail-oriented with experience consistently delivering high quality work products
  • You can use Microsoft office products: Outlook, Teams, excel, word etc.

Responsibilities

  • Support the dean and associate dean with administrative support across the district.
  • Work with your team to improve the department¿s student retention and success
  • Lead compliance for your department ensuring that they meet state and national accreditation standards.
  • Demonstrate cultural humility and intercultural engagement, including an awareness and understanding of historically disadvantaged populations, and create an educational environment that affirms commitment to equity and diversity
  • Engage in shared governance, including district-wide efforts to support an antiracist institution focused on action to advance access, retention, and success for our most marginalized and vulnerable students and employees
