About The Position

The Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) may conduct verification of the information provided in your application, including validation of driver's license status, education, employment, and criminal history. The Idaho Department of Water Resources has an opening for an Administrative Assistant 2 to support the Planning and Projects Bureau. The individual selected will be a key team member in supporting the operation of the Idaho Water Resource Board programs that foster the sustainable management of Idaho's water resources. The individual must have the organizational skills to multi-task and manage the needs of a diverse group of people with heavy workloads, meeting schedules, and travel arrangements. The individual will perform complex secretarial, office administration, public relations assignments, and related work. This full-time and benefited position will be asked to travel within the state when needed.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of: · office support functions including word processing · filing · composing a variety of business documents · reception · researching, compiling, and summarizing data for reports
  • Experience: · interpreting, applying, and explaining information such as regulations, policies, or services · independently solving problems / performing liaison activities in a work setting · coordinating activities requiring complex arrangements

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge or experience of state and local government organization structure, functions, and decision-making processes to include public policy development, and state rulemaking and legislative processes
  • Experience transcribing audio recordings

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex secretarial, office administration, and public relations assignments
  • Coordinate administrative activities requiring frequent contact with executives, the public, other agencies, and government officials
  • Function independently, exercising discretion in applying policies and procedures and using extensive knowledge of department programs
  • Compose correspondence for supervisor on own initiative or from general instructions and format / type a variety of executive, sensitive, confidential, official and/or legal documents
  • Assist with arranging logistics for Board meetings and running audio recordings during the meetings to document minutes of the meetings
  • Prepare for approval and distribute final minutes of the meetings
  • Assist Board Members and staff with travel logistics & reconciliation
  • Manage workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Utilize Microsoft office suite
  • May supervise staff
