This position will touch on all areas of Active Day’s clinical operations within assigned region. The Regional Clinical Director is the most senior clinician for an assigned region. The Clinical Director provides leadership, training and oversight related to clinical practices in accordance with state regulations, payer requirements as well as company policies and procedures. In collaboration with the National Director of Clinical Operations identifies documents and drives strategic company initiatives. Interacts heavily with COO and the Chief Compliance Officer and works directly with Regional and Center Directors, center staff and other company leadership to effectively support clinical quality, compliance and training activities within the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Current, active RN license required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years clinical experience with five (5) years of experience managing and implementing a quality improvement program preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in community based health care setting in a similar role at a medium to large sized, multi-site organization preferred.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory affairs.
  • Experience working with and knowledge of high quality clinical practices.
  • Experience developing and presenting training materials; well versed in principles of adult learning.
  • Strong technology skills, including delivery of training through multiple channels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; adept at learning new software programs.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills as well as a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines while managing time effectively.
  • Ability to travel extensively: ~50%.

Responsibilities

  • Inform and participate in regional strategic, business planning activities.
  • Establish expectations for team members and direct performance improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor the performance of clinical, quality and compliance metrics and benchmarks, and work with Regional and Center Directors to adjust the strategy as needed to meet goals.
  • Identify and document best practices as well as drive effective Policies and Procedures, recognizing when updates are needed to ensure compliance with state regulations and managed care contractual terms.
  • Apply best practice systems and standards to mitigate/minimize risk and liability.
  • Provide assigned centers with oversight of quality improvement activities that focus on clinical excellence; risk management and; staff training, education, and performance.
  • Effectively lead and implement the internal audit plan in collaboration with the Compliance department.
  • Perform compliance audits and provide feedback and reporting to centers on performance metrics
  • Assist Center Directors in developing effective corrective action plans (“CAP”) and oversee the execution of CAP including designing quality improvement systems and procedures to achieve deficiency free audits.
  • Work closely with Regional and Center Directors to ensure training/education and support provided across the region.
  • Develop and conduct training throughout region to improve and maintain clinical competencies for all center staff (new hire clinical onboarding, annual training, etc.)
  • Monitor marketplace and regulatory environmental conditions relevant to the business model, and ensure operations teams are informed of emerging issues and trends which impact service delivery.
  • Manage and monitor incident reports, provide feedback, guidance and direction.
  • Participate in hiring processes to ensure necessary clinical expertise for population management throughout centers and region.
  • Build positive relationships to ensure delivery of high quality service for members, staff satisfaction, external business partner relationships, and achievement of business goals.
