About The Position

At the direction of the Regional Vice President of Clinical Quality, the Regional Director of Clinical Quality is responsible for providing overall vision and direction for all aspects of clinical quality. The Regional Director ensures that the health system provides the highest quality care in a safe, timely, and patient centered manner. Plans, develops and expands continuous clinical performance improvement through the setting of priorities and establishing and executing strategic quality plans across the continuum of patient care. Exercises leadership, collaboration and partnership with all entities involved in quality and patient safety, analytics, evidence-based medicine, CMS and payer pay-for-performance and regulatory affairs. Participates in ongoing optimization of organizational structure relating to quality and safety. Accurately measures and reports appropriate clinical quality metrics for all divisions of the health system and its medical staffs responsible for facilitating the development, implementation and monitoring of clinical quality improvement initiatives; and responsible for alignment of clinical quality initiatives with the overall quality and safety agenda of the health system including compliance with external requirements of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, The Joint Commission, Trinity Health, The Ohio Department of Health and other regulatory or payer entities. Provides executive leadership and direction ensuring the organization is aligned with the annual Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Plan. Has leadership oversight and responsibility for the system quality scorecard and leads initiatives to drive clinical outcome performance.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related health care field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Registered nurse with a current Ohio License.
  • A minimum of (5) years of clinical and management experience required.
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Current knowledge of clinical practice and standards across the continuum of health care delivery.
  • Current knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and other regulatory standards related to hospital clinical quality metrics and medical staff ongoing assessment of clinical competency.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under tight time frames and to collaborate effectively with a variety of peers and professionals in a variety of delivery settings.
  • Ability to oversee the work of a team of individual experts and provide a positive working environment.
  • Proficient in the PC environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in leading clinical quality and patient safety efforts for multi-site healthcare delivery organization preferred.
