The Service Line Administrator is responsible for the leadership and strategic oversight of the operational, financial, and clinical outcomes of their assigned service line within the University of Virginia Health System. Along with the Service Line Physician Leader, this role completes the dyad responsible for all service line outcomes. In concert with Service Line Physician Leadership and Department Chairs, the Administrator serves as a visible champion of performance improvement, quality & patient safety, compliance, and patient engagement across Heart and Vascular Services. In collaboration with Service Line Physician Leadership and Department Chairs, the Administrator will be responsible for developing and overseeing implementation of the strategic plan for the Service Line as well as specific programmatic business plans. Collaborates with the Service Line Physician Lead to provide leadership, direction, and organization within the Service Line Champions an integrated model of care for patients with administrative colleagues. Leads, develops, and oversees the strategic plan for the SL as well as specific programmatic business plans. Co-chairs the Service Line governance / oversight group to ensure collaborative decision make across the service line. Collaborates across UVA Health to ensure resources are available to execute strategic plan. Partners with Business Development to facilitate affiliations and partnerships. Establishes and monitors the service, growth, financial and innovation metrics and proposes annual goals to improve care and clinical outcomes. Collaborates across UVA Health to address operational and performance issues that impact Service Line goals. Leads assigned operations within the designated service line, to include setting and achieving service line goals and objectives, and leading the resolution of key operational issues. Manages the performance of staff and resources of assigned outpatient and procedural areas, promoting teamwork between/among all clinical areas within the service line. Partners with administrative and clinical leaders to develop appropriate measures with proper benchmarks that will be tracked and reported to improve care and operations. Cooperates with clinicians, departments, and medical school to provide an environment for education and research. Ensures compliance with the Medical Center, University, State, and federal policies for all areas such as privacy, confidentiality, billing, etc. Serves as a role model for the corporate and cultural values of the Health System.
