Requirements

  • Master's degree in Music required. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Prior experience teaching applied conducting lessons to undergraduate and/or graduate students required.
  • Possess a solid understanding of gestural technique as taught in "Masterful Choral Conducting" (Stahlei/Hall)
  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Serve as an excellent role model for students
  • Teach lessons in an efficient and focused manner
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills
  • Respond to emails with students and colleagues promptly
  • This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • All employees are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.

  • Doctoral degree in Music preferred.
  • Preference is given to qualified candidates who are members in good standing of the affiliated church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
