About The Position

The Co-Course Director for the Skin and Musculoskeletal Organ System course will assist the Course Director in the design, delivery, and coordination of a 6-week course that focuses on the structure and function of the integumentary and musculoskeletal systems, as well as common pathologies and mechanisms of injury. The Co-Course Director will integrate clinical perspectives with foundational science and collaborate across disciplines to enhance teaching throughout the course.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent clinical degree with relevant specialty training. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Expertise in course-relevant content areas and a commitment to medical education.
  • Alignment with and commitment to the mission, values, and spiritual aims of Brigham Young University and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching medical students or residents in clinical or academic settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical insight and instruction for sessions related to dermatology, musculoskeletal pathologies, and treatments.
  • Facilitate learning activities and small group discussions related to skin and musculoskeletal organ system.
  • Support student learning through patient cases, simulations, and relevant medical conditions.
  • Support development of assessments and grading rubrics.
  • Collaborate with the Course Director to ensure alignment with curricular goals and standards.
  • May be assigned additional responsibilities within the School of Medicine, including course development, curriculum review, committee service, and other institutional initiatives.
