About The Position

Teach Psych 349: Positive Psychology, topics include purpose, values, gratitude, mindfulness, supportive relationships, flow, transcendence, self-compassion, etc. Help students personally apply evidence-based well-being strategies using an experiential learning paradigm Prepare students to evaluate the research literature on topics in positive psychology In sum, address human flourishing by science and by faith, incorporating principles and teachings of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ Our department values belonging, student mentoring, a collegial culture, and the ideals of open and reproducible research This course will be taught during Fall Semester 2026 T/Th from 9:30AM-10:45AM.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Show commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with teaching in Positive Psychology is preferred
  • Knowledge and ability to teach about the science of well-being
  • Experience in conducting original research in Positive Psychology is preferred
