About The Position

The Adjunct Math Instructor provides in-person evening mathematics instruction to adult learners preparing for the GED or National External Diploma Program (NEDP). Instruction focuses on building foundational through GED-level math skills while fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment for adult students.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, Secondary Education (Math), Adult Education, or a related field
• Experience teaching math at the high school or GED level
• Ability to work effectively with adult learners from diverse backgrounds
• Strong communication and classroom management skills

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in a related field
• Experience teaching adult education or GED math
• Familiarity with CASAS, Accuplacer, or similar assessments

Responsibilities

• Teach evening math classes aligned to GED and NEDP standards
• Deliver instruction across multiple levels, including numeracy, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and data analysis
• Develop engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse adult learner needs
• Track attendance and student progress
• Collaborate with academic staff, tutors, and Student Support Services
• Participate in required orientation and limited professional development activities
