About The Position

Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as a cohort adjunct faculty member for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The college, which provides a job focused education, features a variety of programs from counseling and psychology to justice studies, history and English literature. As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. If you are highly motivated and passionate about teaching exceptional quality instruction in modern facilities with smaller class sizes, we’d like to hear from you. This position will be located at Eglin Air Force Base in Valparaiso, Florida. Candidates will need to be on-base Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, OR Thursday from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST) once a week. The course is English Composition I, which is a writing-intensive course in writing academic prose, including various types of essays, arguments, and constructions.

Requirements

• PhD in Composition OR Writing OR Professional Writing OR Rhetoric
• Master’s in Composition Writing OR Professional Writing OR Rhetoric
• Master’s in any field AND 18-graduate credits in English AND substantial work experience (exceptions may be granted)

Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
• Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
• Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
