About The Position

Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as a cohort adjunct faculty member for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. The college, which provides a job focused education, features a variety of programs from counseling and psychology to justice studies, history and English literature. As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. If you are highly motivated and passionate about teaching exceptional quality instruction in modern facilities with smaller class sizes, we’d like to hear from you. This position will be located at the F.E. Warren Air Force Base at the following address: 4600 Randall Ave, Cheyenne, WY 82005. The College Mathematics course covers mathematics that matter in modern society. Key areas of focus include financial literacy, numerically-based decision making, growth, scale, and numerical applications. The course applies basic college-level mathematics to real-life problems and is appropriate for students whose majors do not require college algebra or higher.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Mathematics OR Statistics OR Closely related field which requires calculus or above, or statistics coursework, such as Physics and Engineering
  • Candidates with a Master's degree in any discipline and 3-5 years of experience teaching high school or post-secondary applied mathematics may also be considered

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in Mathematics OR Statistics OR Closely related field with high school or post-secondary teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
