About The Position

The Additive Manufacturing Process and Capability Center (AMPCC) encompasses a critical mass of Additive Manufacturing (AM) process and industrialization experts, the necessary equipment, and develops the strategic collaborations needed to rapidly mature the technology and manufacturing readiness of AM. The AMPCC focuses on the research, development and deployment of additive manufacturing tools and processes for our business units. The Summer Process Intern will be responsible for one or more of the following activities as they relate to the AMPCC, including: Process standardization and documentation Development of new tools and methods Characterizing fabricated parts Supporting the commissioning and verification of new equipment Designing and utilizing fixtures for machine characterization equipment Developing mathematical models and visual representations of experimental data Data analysis of builds, parts, or material samples

Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a graduate degree in the field of Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Materials Engineering or related technical field and must not graduate before September 2026. Please submit a copy of your academic transcripts with your application.
  • Scripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similar
  • CAD experience with NX, Solidworks, Creo, or similar
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing concepts or equipment
  • Advanced mathematics and data analysis skills with a basic understanding of statistics
  • Hands-on experience working with laboratory equipment
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
