Requirements

A degree Engineering or related field is required.
A degree from an ABET accredited institution preferred.
Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D. with a minimum 9 years of experience; Masters with at least 13 years of experience, or a BS with at least 15 years of experience.
Previous experience in either metallic or nonmetallic additive manufacturing (AM).
Proficiency in CAD modeling software (preferably ProEngineer) and its application to AM.
Must understand design-for-additive considerations/challenges and be able to communicate those to product designers.
The ability to be "hands-on" and to communicate and work well with others.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of in-situ monitoring processes.
Ability to create generative designs for additive parts.
Demonstrated leadership and innovation in the field of AM.
Project management experience is highly desired.

Responsibilities

Perform, document and report microstructural analysis of manufactured aerospace hardware and witness test coupons.
Develop a metallurgical understanding of metals processed by casting, forging, welding, selective laser melting, directed energy deposition, and hot isostatic pressing for the determination of comparative relationships.
