About The Position
Addiction Recovery Counselor Location: Stafford and Needville, TX Pay Range: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour based on experience and licensure Schedule: Full time 40 hour week Are you a passionate and energetic counselor ready to make a difference in the lives of young adults? OPI Houston is hiring a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or LCDC-Intern to join our residential and transitional care team in Stafford and Needville, TX. This full - time counseling role offers the opportunity to work directly with individuals ages 18–28, supporting their journey through substance use recovery, emotional regulation, and attachment healing. As a Substance Abuse Counselor / Recovery Coach, you’ll provide individual and group therapy, lead recovery - focused activities, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary mental health team to foster a safe and empowering environment. We’re seeking a high - energy, joyful professional who can help clients rediscover the joy in sober living and bring positivity to their healing process. Requirements
- Current LCDC or LCDC-Intern III license in good standing with the Texas Department of State Health Services
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage young adults
- Ability to work independently and meet service/documentation expectations
- Understanding of family systems and group therapy facilitation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for working in substance use and mental health recovery
- Comfort and competence in supporting clients with a wide range of addictive behaviors, including but not limited to substance use, internet addiction, sex and love addiction, compulsive shopping, and gaming
- Ability to pass a state background check

Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling sessions for each client in the chemical dependency (CD) track
- Facilitate weekly recovery groups and support meetings
- Transport clients to off-campus AA/NA meetings and other community recovery events
- Plan and lead weekend recovery functions, retreats, and experiential outings
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate group sessions, individual therapy, and weekend programming
- Participate in weekly treatment team and clinical meetings
- Complete assessment testing and maintain accurate documentation in a web-based system
- Support clients through program completion and discharge planning
