About The Position
Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois is seeking a skilled and compassionate Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our inpatient care team. This role focuses on delivering exceptional care to acutely ill patients while working collaboratively with a strong multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with Acute Care NP certification (ACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG)
- Active Illinois RN and APRN licenses (or ability to obtain)
- Required: BLS & ACLS
- Experience in acute inpatient settings preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Perform advanced procedures including:
- Central line placement
- Endotracheal intubation
- Additional procedures based on credentialing
- Manage admissions, daily rounds, and discharges
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation
- Participate in quality improvement, safety, and clinical best practices
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams
