About The Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an Actuarial Summer Intern who will work closely with our Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP) department. The intern will be able to contribute to several tasks including asset reconciliation, assisting with research and cleanup of historical uncashed checks/returned ACH, testing, and potentially building actuarial models. Through our internship process, Glatfelter continues our proud tradition of community involvement. Our summer interns will be immersed in corporate culture, included in shadowing and networking events, and enriched through career development seminars.

Requirements

  • Completion of sophomore year in actuarial-related bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university
  • Achievement of a 3.0 or higher-grade point average
  • Someone who has the ability to work 30 hours per week at our York office location, starting May 18, 2026 to Aug 7, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Review, test, and contribute to building actuarial models
  • Interact with an actuarial pension software called Relius to assist with actuarial valuations and quotes
  • Assist with pension plan asset reconciliation and financial tracking
  • Attend business meetings and actuarial planning sessions
  • Gain an understanding of key actuarial concepts and funding methods for pension plans
  • Assist with actuarial model automation and provide input on other efficiency improvements
  • Develop the ability to interact professionally in a business environment of a diverse team of actuaries, analysts, and pension administrators.
