Leave our customers and associates “better than where we found them.” We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Actuarial Intern to join our team for the summer. The Actuarial intern will focus on improving reporting processes and responding to customers’ requests for policy values. The ideal candidate will have an academic background in accounting or finance, coupled with strong report writing skills. This is a hands-on opportunity to work closely with our actuarial, finance, and accounting teams while contributing to important process improvements. The Actuarial Intern will support the Actuarial team with analytical tasks, data preparation, and project assistance.

Requirements

  • Education: Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Experience: Prior internship helpful but not required. Strong proficiency with Excel and financial software applications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Strong PC skills; familiarity with programming or actuarial tools a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a keen interest in actuarial and actuarial/financial data analysis.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and contribute to the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or coursework related to actuarial, accounting, and/or finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation
  • Support data analysis for pricing, valuation, and experience studies
  • Maintain actuarial models and spreadsheets
  • Perform data validation and quality checks
  • Support the conversion of in-force policies from the legacy environment to the new platform
  • Assist with research and special projects
  • Collaborate with Actuarial and other business areas
